'Summer Hard Feet' is the term the kids used when they noticed the results of going barefoot during the summer months in Napa so many years ago. This is the lake, in the summer time, where we live now.

A Very Nice Time in SLC
Claire building her Penguin
Choosing a heart
So after Build A Bear, we went to California Pizza for lunch. It started out so well with the girls in high chairs busily drawing with crayons in their restaurant books. The food took quite a while to get to us, so of course eating butter packets and standing on the table, throwing things, and smearing butter on the seat backs were the only things left to do. Food finally arrived. I had ordered a salad that boasted of numerous hot, roasted vegetables on lettuce. I asked that all the veggies be put on the side of the lettuce. Instead of that, three waiters arrived with eight small plates, under eight small bowls and eight spoons. They put each individual 'refrigerator cold' vegetables in separate servings. As soon as they left, I dumped it all on the lettuce.
We endured the stares from the other diners and the screams of impatience from Bryn and Claire for a little while longer. It was time to go and as we were signing the bill and packing food in take home containers, the waiter brought the kids' meal to our table. They eagerly held the door for us as we left laughing, struggling with strollers and containers of food.
Every girl likes a bath and then a good book to read.
